Recent visa policy changes:
- According to Resolution No. 44/NQ-CP, Vietnam exempts visas for citizens from 12 countries across the world, with a temporary stay of 45 days from the date of entry, regardless of passport type or purpose of entry, starting from March 15, 2025 to March 14, 2028.
- Effective from January 30, 2025, Viet Nam - Belarus implemented a mutual visa exemption agreement in which citizens of both countries holding ordinary passports are exempt from visas for 30 days for each entry.
- Vietnam offers 45-day visa-free entry (Participating in itineraries organized by international tour operators in Vietnam) for citizens from the following countries: Czech Republic, Switzerland and Poland starting from March 01 to December 31, 2025.
- 3 month multiple entry visas are available from 15 August 2023.
- Citizens from all countries are now eligible for the e-visa program.
- 09 more ports of entry have been added to the list of eligible entry/exit points.
- No gap between 2 visa-exempt entries anymore, citizens from visa-free countries can now re-enter Vietnam immediately after exiting.
- More countries to be added to the exemption list soon (currently 29 countries).
- Visa exemption policy is considered for high-profile foreign visitors including billionaires and celebrities.
- Proposal of “golden visa" valid for 5-10 years for long-term visitors and investors to Vietnam.

Update on visa exemption policy
Vietnam unilaterally exempts visas for 12 countries for 45 days regardless of passport type or purpose of entry, if fully comply with the entry conditions according to the provisions of Vietnamese law. This policy will be implemented from March 15, 2025 to March 14, 2028, and will be considered for extension according to the rules.
In addition, Belarusian passport holders are waved from Vietnam visas for 30 days (according to a mutual visa exemption agreement, effective from January 30, 2025) and citizens of Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland are exempted for 45 days under the 2025 tourism stimulus program from March 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025.

I am going to be on a cruise ship with first port of call Ho Chi Minh City. Our last call in Vietnam will be Ha Long Bay using the International Cruise Sea Port Ha Long Bay which is not on the list of entry/exit points. Nearby Hon Gai Seaport is on list. I have been told the E-Visa will work if exit point not on list?
i see the latest news that Vietnam grant e-visa to all countries. Im cruising to Vietnam i currently holds a Bahamian passport that require me to have a Vietnam visa do i still need a Vietnam Visa or i could apply for the E-Visa?
