1. What is visa on arrival?
Vietnam Visa on Arrival is an online, alternative way to obtain a visa to visit Vietnam.
After completing the online application form and paying the processing fee, you will receive, via email, your Approval Letter from between one hour to two business days, depending on the status of visa processing you have selected.
Copies of your Approval Letter will also be forwarded on your behalf to Vietnam Immigration checkpoints at each of Vietnam’s three international airports in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, or Da Nang (online visa approval only applies to air travelers who arrive at one of Vietnam’s international airports; travelers arriving by land or sea must apply for a visa through a Vietnam Embassy).
When you arrive in Vietnam, the Immigration officers will have your documents ready and will be able to issue you your entry visa quickly.
2. Do I need to pay anything else on arrival?
Yes, our listed fee is for the approval letter service fee only. The stamping fee at Vietnam airport is 25 USD per person.
3. What is the approval letter?
The "Visa approval letter" is a document that allows you to enter and exit Vietnam for a given time period. With the approval letter, you can pick up your visa upon arrival at one of the 5 international airports in Vietnam (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang City - Cam Ranh Airport and Da Nang).
Please note: Normally, visa approval letter is usually issued in group and therefore, you may find your name and other information in the same letter as other people.
4. Do I need photos at Vietnam airport and what are photo requirements?
Photographs are required at Vietnam airports only and you do not need to provide them during the online application process. The photographs need to be taken in the format specified below.
Photographs must:
- be a recent true likeness of the individual, taken within the last 6 months
- be in colour, not black and white
- be taken against a light grey or cream background 40 millimetres (mm) width x 60 mm height (4cm*6cm)
- be free from shadows
- be printed professionally or taken in a passport photo booth.
Note: in emergency cases, photos can be taken at Vietnam airport for 5 USD/each
