We are on a cruise that makes 3 stops in VN. We applied for eVisas and received them. On our application we listed our first port of entry as Ho Chi Minh City and our last port (of departure) as Da Nang Seaport. Now with one month to go RCCL has told us that the arrival port is NOT Ho Chi Minh City but the port Vung Tau Seaport and the Departure City is not DaNang Seaport but the Chan May Seaport. Our eVisa's do not state any arrival or departure port, only "multiple entries". But our actual applications list our original ports, not the updated ones. Are these eVisas still valid, even though the ports are now different or do we need to get new eVisa's?

@Jon Dorrick, both Vung Tau Seaport and Chan May Seaport are listed as eligible ports of entry and exit. Since your e-Visa is for multiple entries and does not specify specific ports, your visas remain valid and there’s no need to apply for new e-Visas.

@Volker Lohaus, you can choose an estimated arrival date on your evisa application, and as long as you enter Vietnam before the visa expires, it’s valid. For example, if your visa starts on 1 November 2024 and expires on 30 November 2024, you can arrive anytime within that timeframe.

Hello, our e-visas just got granted last week; same like what you've been mentioning here. There are no entry and exit checkpoints mentioned on our e-visas. We did select Ho Chi Minh (Tan Son Nhat Int Airport) as our entry and exit checkpoints while filling the applications. some change to our travel plan now we are planning to flight from Korea directly to Phu Quoc Int airport stay there for few days then flight from Phu Quoc to Ho chi minh city stay for few days then go home from Ho chi minh city. Would this be any problem? given the exit port is aligned with our visa application just the entry checkpoint will be Phu Quoc instead of Ho Chi Minh city. Thanks!

I am on a cruise with 2 stops in Vietnam. The first stop is Chan May (for Da Nang/Hue) and the final stop is Phu My (for Ho Chi Minh City), with a sea day in between. I assume I only need a single entry visa is that correct? When I complete the electronic visa, there is no option for Phu My - what seaport do I select? Also the cruise company is telling us we can't get an eVisa but I cannot see any other options. I have a passport from the Netherlands and my travelling companion holds a passport from Australia. @Henricus Bouwmeester, If you plan to stay on Phu Quoc Island without traveling to other cities in Vietnam, you are exempt from visa requirements to visit Phu Quoc for a period of 30 days.

@Yasmin Karakus, please see our answers as follows:

  1. If you are flying to Ho Chi Minh City and then exit the international terminal for your flight to Hanoi, please select Ho Chi Minh City as your port of arrival.
  2. However, if you are staying within the transit area and not passing through immigration at HCMC airport before boarding your next flight to Hanoi, please choose Hanoi as your port of entry.

As you have to board a different plane to Hanoi, we think you should choose the HCMC as checkpoint since you will need to do the immigration cleance at SGN airport.
