To get a visa on arrival you will need to pay for two fees: (1) visa letter service fee - payable at time of application and (2) stamping fee- payable when arriving at Vietnam's airport. The actual cost will depend on the type of visa you’re applying for.
- The visa letter service fee varies depending on the type of visa you want to obtain and how fast you want to get the service delivered.
- The stamping fee is fixed: As of now, it is $25 USD for single entry visa and $50 USD for multiple entry visa. Payment must be made in cash in USD or VND (Credit cards might not be accepted and there is no ATM machines within the custom area) and may change with advanced notice.
- For an E-visa application, the cost is 25 USD for a single-entry visa and 50 USD for a multiple-entry visa to Vietnam, both valid for up to 90 days.

@Caroline Lam, you will need to obtain a visa in advance. As a U.S. passport holder, you are eligible to apply for a 90-day E-visa, which you can apply easily online on the official website: https://evisa.gov.vn/.
