@Pui Yan Gladys Lam, If you just stay within the island (not visit other cities in Vietnam), then you will not need a visa for a 30 day stay.

Hi, I'm planning on flying Melbourne to Ho Chi Minh then travelling to Cambodia (unsure if via flight, bus or boat as yet) for a couple of weeks, then coming back to Vietnam for a couple of weeks, then flying out of Ho Chi Minh back to Melbourne. My question is about Vietnamese visas - I've been advised I need multi entry (but cannot find how to apply) that I need 2 x single entry & that I can't have 2 x single entry visas. Totally confused & would appreciate advice. Thank you.

@Fiona Eye, You are right, you cannot have two visas at the same time and multi-entry visa is not available at the moment. Therefore, when you exit Vietnam for Cambodia, you can apply for another single entry to re-enter the country!

I am travelling to Vietnam from Melbourne Australia where I will then be transitioning to Thailand for a medical procedure. The duration of my vietnam trip will be from the 10th to 27th of May. I have paid for both the flights and medical procedure and return flight from Thailand. My problem is that whilst the passport will still be valid during this period, it has less than 6 months. I am wondering if it is still possible to obtain a VISA if i can prove that I only plan on staying for this short period of time. I am currently on an Irish Passport and work in Australia. My flight is the 10th of May and unfortunately the turnaround time to obtain a new passport will take 8 weeks. I would appreciate any help and support with my application.

@Stephen Ward, For the e-visa application, only 1 month remaining validity on your passport is required. Therefore, there is no problem for you to enter Vietnam between the 10th and 27th of May.
