Do Brazilian passport holders need a visa for Vietnam?

Yes. Brazil is NOT included in the Vietnam visa exemption list and Brazilian citizens must obtain a visa to enter Vietnam for tourism, business, or other purposes. There are three ways to apply for a Vietnam visa:

  1. Apply for a visa at the Vietnamese embassy in Brazil.
  2. Get an e-visa issued by the Vietnamese Immigration Department through the electronic system.
  3. Obtain a Vietnam visa on arrival at one of the designated international airports in Vietnam.

 

How to apply for a Vietnamese visa on a Brazilian passport

Visa at the Vietnam Embassy in Brazil

To obtain a Vietnam visa, Brazilian citizens can apply for it at the Vietnamese embassy in Brazil by following these general steps:

  1. Contact the Vietnamese embassy in Brazil to obtain the visa application form.
  2. Complete the visa application form and enclose it with the required documents, such as a valid passport, a passport-size photo, and proof of travel arrangements.
  3. Submit the application to the Vietnamese embassy and pay the visa fee.
  4. Wait for your visa application processed and then collect it in person or have it mailed to you.

Apply for e-visa online

Brazilian passport holders are eligible to apply for a Vietnam e-visa which is valid for a single entry and a maximum stay of 90 days. If you plan to stay in Vietnam for more than 90 days or require multiple entries, you may need to apply for a different type of visa. To apply for a Vietnam e-visa, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official website of the Vietnam e-visa system: https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/ and fill out the online application form with the required information. 
  2. Pay the visa fee using a credit/debit card or other accepted payment methods (currently 25 USD ~ 122 BRL).
  3. Wait for the e-visa to be processed, which usually takes 2-3 business days.
  4. Receive your visa via email and present the printed one along with your passport at the immigration checkpoint upon arrival in Vietnam.

Apply for a visa on arrival

Vietnam visa on arrival is only applicable to air travelers arriving at one of the international airports in Vietnam such as Noi Bai or Tan Son Nhat. The visa fee may vary depending on your type of visa and length of stay. To get a Vietnam visa on arrival, you need to complete these steps:

  1. Apply for a visa approval letter through a reputable travel agency or visa service provider based in Vietnam.
  2. Pay the visa approval letter fee.
  3. Receive the visa approval letter via email
  4. Print it out and upon arrival at a designated airport in Vietnam, present your passport, the printed visa approval letter, and two passport-size photos at the visa-on-arrival counter.
  5. Pay the visa stamping fee and receive your visa stamp.
